How to choose Plastic clip hangers

2025-11-13

As the experience, you’ve probably used the cheap plastic clip hangers that broken after only one use, or the clip was so tight that leave marks on your clothes. But if that thing happened, your customer will blame YOU-not the hanger manufacture.

Choosing the wrong hanger = wasting money + damaging clothes + affecting brand image.

So how to choose the right Plastic clip hangers?

1.Material

The common raw materials for plastic hangers include PP, PS, ABS, acrylic, and flocking.

The PP raw material is relatively tough, so the finished hangers are less likely to break and have elasticity. Used hangers can be directly crushed to become recycled raw materials for secondary use.

The PS raw material is relatively fragile, similar to glass, and is prone to cracking. The price of the PS raw material is about 30-40% higher than that of PP. Used hangers can be directly crushed to become recycled raw materials for secondary use.

ABS has a more delicate surface effect, similar to PP. Its performance is more stretchier and stronger than that of PP raw material. It is the most expensive type of raw material. The price is about 10% higher than that of PS material.

Recommendation: PP (Polypropylene) or ABS - high toughness, low-temperature resistance, and not prone to aging;

2. Look at the clamping force and structure (Clip Design)

The core of the plastic clip hangers lies in the "clip", so the design of the clip is crucial. Most buyers only focus on the hanger price and appearance, and do not pay much attention to the internal structure of the clip, which can lead to choosing the wrong hanger and causing return issues.

Whether the clip is good or not depends on the following three points:

(1) The clip force must be moderate - not necessarily the tighter the better.

Too tight : Although it clamps firmly, it is prone to causing marks, stretching deformation, or even tearing on the clothes. Especially for some delicate fabrics such as silk, modal, lace, and wool, it can cause damage.

Too loose: The force is too loose, and when hanging heavy clothes, it will cause the clip not to slide smoothly with the clothes, not only dirtying the clothes, but also possibly affecting the customer's impression of the brand.

Optimal state: The clip force can firmly clamp the clothes, and with a gentle pinch of the clip, it can be easily opened and closed.

(2) Hanger clips structure

Currently, there are mainly two types of clips structures on the market: plastic clip hangers with metal vs plastic clip hangers without metal

Plastic clip hangers with metal: A relatively traditional design, mainly relying on the clip sheets to provide the rebound force.
